Application of Aquaponic System as an Alternative for Medical Liquid Waste Containing Blood at the Dentist's Practice

The waste generated by the dentist clinic is in form of non-medical and medical waste. Medical liquid containing blood can develop disease if not processing properly before entering environment. Aquaponic system a combination hydroponics aquatics, also resirculation process using plants animals as: convolvulus land (Ipoema Reptans) catfishes (Clarias spp.) that able to survive extremes. has potential be an alternative treating according standard Regulation Minister Environment Republic Indonesia Number 5 2014. study aims observe value changes parameter BOD, COD, TSS, pH; compare them standard. research pre-experimental on shot case done four days put treatment first day then sample were taken every 24 hours. measurement result efficiency BOD 57, 1%, COD 40 %, TSS 53 pH 4, 7 %.
